Tool Steel A2 is a medium-carbon, medium-chromium air-hardening cold work tool steel. It offers superior toughness and dimensional stability compared to D2, while maintaining good wear resistance and hardenability (slightly lower than D2). A2 is more suitable for cold work dies and cutting tools subjected to moderate impact loads, which require balanced performance and machining stability.
