The Advantages of Mill-turn Machines

Mill-turn numerical control machine tool refers to the machine tool that can complete milling and turning and can be both a milling and lathing machine. The mill-turn machine was first used to process propeller, mainly to avoid the loss of accuracy and datum caused by twice clamping!

CNC mill-turn machine center can install a variety of tools, reduce tool change time, improve processing efficiency, can achieve one-time clamping to complete all or most of the processing procedures, thus greatly shortening the product manufacturing process chain. In this way, on the one hand, it reduces the auxiliary production time caused by the change of fixture, on the other hand, it also reduces the manufacturing cycle and waiting time of the fixture, which can significantly improve the production efficiency.

Reduce clamping times and improve machining accuracy

When turning and milling, the tools will cut intermittently, and the workpiece formed by any material can get shorter chips, which is easier for scrap removing automatically. And the intermittent cutting can make the tools have enough time to cool, reduce the thermal deformation of the workpiece, and improve the service life of the tools. Compared with the traditional CNC machine tools, mill-turn has higher speed, better cutting quality, lower cutting force, improve the precision of thin-walled tube and slender shaft, and high workpiece forming quality.

Because the cutting speed can be divided into the rotating speed of the workpiece and the rotating speed of the tool, according to the mechanical characteristics, the same machining effect can be achieved by increasing the rotating speed of the tool and reducing the rotating speed of the workpiece. This feature is particularly effective for the machining of large forging blank because the reduction of the forging blank speed can eliminate the vibration or radial cutting caused by the eccentricity of the workpiece the periodic change of the force ensures the smooth cutting of the workpiece and reduces the error of the workpiece machining.

When mill-turn machine tools are used to process workpieces, the low rotation speed of the workpiece can effectively reduce the centrifugal force of the workpiece, avoid the deformation of the workpiece, and improve the machining accuracy of parts. In the mill-turning process, a large longitudinal feed can also be used to get accurate cutting, and the surface roughness can also be effectively guaranteed. Mill-turn machine tools can use different methods such as turning, milling, drilling, boring to achieve workpiece processing, and the workpiece can also be clamped once to complete multi-faceted processing tasks to ensure processing accuracy.
